On-Site Diagnostic Ultrasound Scanner
The Centre has the benefit of an On-Site Diagnostic Ultrasound Scanner which aids in the diagnosis and subsequent treatment of a number of sports injuries including tendon injuries, muscle tears and sprains, ligament ruptures and avulsion of bone with ligament or tendon ruptures.
If a scan is required it can often be performed at the same time as your appointment therefore significantly reducing waiting times. It also means that appropriate treatment can be administered much more quickly and therefore help expedite the recovery process.
Musculoskeletal Screening Analysis
Where a sports injury has occurred as a result of a biomechanical dysfunction (imbalance of the body’s muscles and joints) we treat not only the symptoms, but also address the dysfunction by means of a musculoskeletal screening analysis and individual exercise programme. The analysis includes assessment of the muscles identifying tight, weak, over and underactive muscles, joint problems, postural abnormalities, flexibility and leg length discrepancy.
Where appropriate a referral can also be made to our in-house Medical Pilates Instructors who work with Clients to further address muscle imbalance, flexibility and postural abnormalities.
Medical Pilates and Rehabilitation Classes
Medical Pilates is not only beneficial to Clients who have suffered an injury as a result of a biomechanical dysfunction, but can also help enhance the performance of most people participating in sport through improving core strength, balance, increased muscle length and improved functional movement.
