What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a science based primary health care profession. Physiotherapists are highly skilled practitioners whose purpose is to alleviate pain (acute and chronic) and restore a person’s movement and function following either injury, illness or development of a disability.

Physiotherapists treat a wide range of physical conditions including musculoskeletal conditions (soft tissue, joints and bones), neuromuscular conditions (brain and nervous system), cardiovascular and respiratory problems.

Treatment techniques utilised by Physiotherapists in Private Practice focus greatly on manual therapy techniques. They also offer exercise prescription, advice and education to both help aid recovery and prevent further reoccurrences and/or management of a condition.
